Dec 12' 77 Neptunia oleracea

The first true compound leaf has no bloom & was not sensitive to scratched with fine twig for 1' or to pinching. N. B even M. pudica first leaves very little sensitive. —

10° 15' P.m. asleep leaflets pointed forwards but not quite closed— petioles much raised— Cots. not shut, but.

Dec. 21. 2d leaf has 2 pinnæ — leaflets mow repe l repel water, when syringed with tepid water very slight sensitive, move moving a trifle towards apex — not sufficient to be of any use.

Jan 2d third compound, (& even the 2d to a certain extent) quite sensitive to a touch & to drops of water; leaflets now rise about 45° & point to apex — bloom seem fairly well developed.
