Schimper. (say that my sections were from upper part—) add note with ref "Since this paper was read before the Society a paper has appeared by A. F. W. Schimper. (B. 3 Ap. 7 1882 p 233) on aggregation. The author says that du the process consists of the deposition of Tannic Acid, which was surround or dissolved or surround by in liquid Protoplasm.

He thinks that he has found that the protoplasm in cells when excited absorb water from cell-sap & swells & thus drops or balls of colloidal Tannic A. are left.— But this will not apply to aggregated masses in Drosera, for after aggregation has ensued — the streaming protoplasm can be most distinctly seen streaming in waves along the cell-walls, & the must aggregated masses must be suspended in cell-sap.—
