Aug 4th 1876 Stanhopea oculata - thoroughly drying pollinia did not make much difference in the insertion of the pollen-masses into the narrow & shallow stigmata stigmatic cleft - Says can generally be removed by finger scraped down column, as described. but only while the flowers ar quite Young

I may add this to pollen-masses change only little by being thoroughly dried & could not then be easily counted.
