June 21 1862
George went to Orchis bank & soon saw Plusia chrysitis sucking Conopsea & it had 6 pollinia attached; [insertion:] He saw this same with one pollinia of Butterfly! it was settled on Conopsea & sucking, but had none of Conopsea attached!
he caught near this orchis Anaitis plagiata with 5 pollinia attached, of course depressed; & these pollinia were attached rather on side of proboscis, so that the thick end of pollinia was lateral & fitted to strike the lateral stigmas. Strip of course parallel in length to proboscis
Hardly any attached in pairs
G. saw also a fly sucking with pollinia on proboscis.
