Rhipidura albiscapa var in Tasmania male - darker & tail-feathers less marked with white Satin Bower Bird (Ptilonorhynchus); ornaments Bower with gay feather shells, bone & any article picked up. Many individuals of both sexes congregate there - probably visited only during Breeding season - Female constructed it. (p 57 my Page)
2 species of the Chlamydera make even more [illeg] Bower & are frequented in same way.
Artamus sordidus Tasmanian spec. invariably larger & darker – (Nests there larger, more compact & more neatly formed.)
Artamus leucopygialis, sometimes builds its own nest, but often takes possession of other Birds nests & lines it with fresh materials - speaks of other
Australian Birds taking possession in same manner [illeg]
Geophaga scripta (a Dove) coloured in manner & habits like Partridge Several cases of species from different parts of Australia of differnt size
Collocalla arborea, Tasmanian specs, larger - fulvus tint on under side & band across forehead much deeper
Cacatua galerita Tasmania (& New Guinea) specs. differ - former has slightly different Beak - is altogether larger
Acanthorhynchus tenuirostris - Tasmania spec. smaller; markings darker
Myzantha garrula Tasmanian specs. robuster & larger
Anas superciliosa. Duck representative of A. Boschas - specimen from N. Zealand slightly Different.
Spatula Rhynocoris of Australia. S. clypeata of Europe & S. maculata of S. America 3 representative species of Duck Tas.
Cacatua eos — The natives of the Namoi asserted that this Bird had lately arrived there, & bred there, supposed to have come from N. or interior
Hemipodius varius, Tasmanian specimens are rather larger than those of N. S. Wales
