p. 336. Pigs all over Sweden attack dogs & cattle [in margin: Instinct] were often bad in this respect – probably originating from fear of wolves, as suggested by Mr. Lloyd. –

p. 368 Prof. Nillson [Nilsson] [illeg] 5 vars: [varieties] of common fox: evidently similar ones do not occur in England – thought to be larger than British fox, but identical as species.

p. 387 a wolf whelp raised by common bitch barks according to Prof Nillson.

p. 389. The latter less a hybrid cross between wolf & dog in higher couraged than other dogs

– The hybrids, Nillson says breed one with another [on …. see] & with parents.

Vol. I p 93 – Bears of Scandinavia vary in colour "in point of fact one scarcely sees two skins alike"

Some bears have white ring round their necks, even in their adult state for more have it when young:

Despite, whether not a larger or smaller species of bear in the country. –

p. 284 size of Capercali depends much on the latitude; thus in Lapland the cocks seldom exceed 9 or 10 lbs; In Wermeland, never heard of one cock more than 13 lbs, whilst in more S: parts of Sweden not seldom, weigh 17 lbs & upwards.
