Pulmonaria Isle of Wight. on July 4th?? some 21 seed of this plant, taken either from sh. or long-styled plant & which had been raised from both forms growing close together, & no doubt crossed, were planted & one germinated Aug 12th —/ A second on Aug 22d. / 27th a third / 28' 9° P.m. a 4th./

Some other seeds only 7 in number but flower in number of either form which had self-fertilised under net, (& ∴ no doubt short-styled) were planted on sand in same glass like others. Sept 17' 21' not one of these latter has germ so experiment useless & seeds thrown away.
