Transact. Ent. Soc. 3d Series vol V. Part VI. p. 487. M. Personnat says that with Bombyx Yamamai the males precede the females, "so that males at the beginning of the season & females at the end are lost from want of mates." with B. mori. Dr. Wallace shows that by selection none has got the unnatural but to him beneficial end of males & females all appearing at once.
