[72a]

It is said that Prof Meyer has recently ascertained in the U. States that the hairs on the antenna of ♂ mosquitoes vibrate in unison with the various notes of a Tuning fork within the range of the sounds which are emitted by the females— The longest that hairs vibrated sympathetically to the grav notes, & the short fibres to the higher notes.—
