Capt. King direct The coast from C. fair weather to Coy inlet [300] cliff land

Then [Cor] coast tell 18 miles N. of C. Virgins. porph. pebbles between Falklands & Staten – Soundings between C. Possession & raze (40 to 50 f ?) very fine & coarse grey sand: quartz slate: some pebbles 2 & 3 to ½ inch

small granules of quartz with minute shingle of porphyry & slate. orco & scales of mica: occasional little pebble 1/10th of inch

There were other soundings decreasing pretty ready to near Cape Virgins:
v chart soundings all sand

The claw four 3 miles from shore brought up much slate, & quartz pebbles 1 or 2 inches long & one or two.–

St Julian. yellow porph. much [alluvium & synoricum] (Blain)

crossing fine between C. Virgins & Sarmientos shoal to the South the water suddenly deepens to between 40 & 50 Fathom

fathom, again on coming abreast of C. Espiritu Santo shoals again submarine channel & bottom almost entirely slate, 3 or 4 lines long & quartz;

On again approaching Sarmiento shoal same soundings but but finer & some very few S. Julian porphyry pebbles,

Great variation within few miles shingle 3 & 4 lines, minute pebbles & the finest sand.– Off C. Espiritu Santo a black muddy bottom (just like interfolding beds at C. Virgins with slate & porphyry many pebbles.    Terebratulæ & Spatangus.–
