December 15 16th [1832?]

From S of St Sebastian to St Pauls head is a large formation of horizontal strata. — these are much intersected by sloping vallies: which perhaps generally run about W & E. — From St Pauls head a chain of lofty mountains were seen running in ( (in a SE & NW direction?) towards the East & beginning: as far as could be seen about SW by S (true): softer strata: lofty cliffs

There was the last appearance of low cliff. to the West entrance of St. Polycarpo

In Thetis Bay, the hills appear to run SW & NE. —
