that the valve is formed by the infolding of the medial part of the dorsal surface of the bladder; & the rim collar by a similar infolding of the ventral surface. I believe that at this early age the valves & collars are do not cohere in any part. When the one of these very young bladders was viewed from obliquely above, a distinct change in the nature of the tissue, could be seen at the corner of the elliptical orifice, where it infolded dorsal & ventral surfaces unite an are joined , showing that they are essentially distinct. Hence
From these facts, & considering from the bi [illeg] of bifurcation of the vascular tissue I believe to bladder is found by the edges of the vessels at the base of the bladder
I conclude that it is formed by two divisions of the a leaf having coalesced in the lower parts. by their edges.)
