My dear G─

I am glad you got off in tol. condition — Last night Therm. 20—but I have not felt cold —

Fr. H. & Bernard walked to M. Foster & had a pleasant call w. Mr. F. Mercy being very affable to B. who enjoyed his 7m. walk heartily. The Litches are at Ventnor w. open

windows & driving out & sitting out. Poor little Geoffrey Harrison died on Thursday — After 3 days & nights of ceaseless talking; but always looking happy & talking of pleasant things his brother & sister — dogs & flowers — James is ill from prostration & grief. Sophy is gone to take

away Nanny. They don't think he suffered at all wh. has an unreasonable effect in mitigating grief — (my thumb is lame, so I will be short) Claud does not feel tired w. his exam He goes to Cannes— Margt Shaen comes to spend the evg w. me while the rest dine at the Jacksons. Horace has had too many dinners & going out & is rather done up & fidgeting about his work—

A young German at Mr Foster's told B. what was the Saxon flag — He instantly said "I shall ask Ubbady (Bessy) if she knows" I wonder he does not think posing Ubbady too poor sport — but he goes on all breakfast time examining her — I dare say you are m. warmer than we — How awful the snow has been in N Wales — Poor old Leo. what a disappt for him— & to be the only failure your my dear G ─
