Dear Sir

I have to thank for your having sent back to me your eminent fathers two letters. You are quite at liberty publish them if you think proper to do so — I have always considered them very valuable as they evince in so positive a manner his great desire to see his views tested by specialty.

Those are only two of the many letters that have been exchanged up the subject & I have met Mr Darwin

on many occasions when I resided in London.
