Sir,
Having seen your notice in the newspaper, I forward a copy of a letter which I received recently from Mr. Darwin, in case you should like to insert it as a striking illustration of the kindness & benevolence of so great a man in giving his time and attention to answering the unlearned enquiries of a complete stranger like myself.
On the same sheet I have copied a letter from the Revd James Roy which contains an account of the

cats about which I wrote to Mr. Darwin.
I remain Sir,
Yours truly,
Mrs. J. Gwenogfryn Evans
Mr Francis Darwin
