Dear Darwin
I hardly know in what form you wish I should give some recollections of your dear Father. I have put down a few which appear to me desirable to state from my point of view. If you approve it is quite at your service. I have not corrected or rewritten it, and keep no copy. It has been a little labour of love. If it requires alteration if you will note

your comments and send it back to me I will try to improve it.
I have found seven letters, which I enclose to you. As soon as you have had them, or any portions you may wish, copied, I shall be much obliged if you will return them to me. I value them most highly and grieve that I can never see more of

the same.
Mrs Brodie Innes bids me give her best love to Mrs Darwin, and with kindest remembrances.
Believe me,
Faithfully yours
J. Brodie Innes
