Dear Sir

Having seen your letter in "Nature" asking for letters by your father, I beg to enclose two that I had from him. That of May 14th is in reference to the drawing of an apple which I sent to him, to which also he has specially referred in his "Animals & Plants under Domestication" pp. 392-393 Vol. I. The other letter is in reply to one in which I sent him the sermon of a friend (I now forget who) warmly upholding his views at a time when they were the subject of great animadversion. I need hardly say that I greatly prize these mementos, however slight, of one whom I have always held in the highest honour &admiration.

Believe me, Yrs very truly

P.W. LaTouche (Vieux)
