My dear Christine

I am sending the autograph I promised of my father. It is a bit of the first edit of the Origin. But I'm sorry I can't send Ruskin, as I only find two notes of his.

[2]

In case you would like them, I send a Lord Avebury & a Mrs Thackeray Ritchie (Thackeray's daughter & author of Village on the Cliff [illeg].

I suppose you are all hard at work now in all sorts of ways & the poor animals left alone at Seal Harbour, tho' I suppose some of the most beloved dogs & horses came to N. York with you.

With my love to Polly & Susy.

Your English friend

H.E. Litchfield

P.T.O.

This got left out of my package by mistake.
