194 DARWIN, CHARLES

A.L.S. 2 1/2 pp., 4to, Down Farnborough, Kent, Sept. 1 [1848]. To Milne Edwards, President of the Royal Scientific Society of Paris.

A fine early letter by this celebrated english naturalist.

Your kind manner to me at Oxford induces me to think that you will perhaps excuse the liberty of addressing you, & asking some aid if it be in your power to grant it. I have been employed for nearly two years on an Anatomical & Systematic Monograph on the limpedia [Cirripedia]. . .Incorporated in the letter are several technical scientific terms.
