3 Interesting A. Ls. s., 6 1/2 pp., 8vo, 11 March [1863]-3 December, 1881, and undated, to Sir James Paget, on scientific subjects… One is led at once to suspect reversion, though that is an easy & tempting trap to fall into. Your sketch has called up a fairly vivid recollection in my mind of a gentleman ... with whom I used as a boy often to shoot, & who had ears much as you describe. I must look to the ears of our brethren in the York Gardens. …I have just had read aloud to me your article on vivisection, & it has quite delighted me & my wife. I am boiling over with indignation on the subject.—Good Heavens what a contrast in style is Owen's article compared with yours! . . .
