4 species of Horned fly — a new genus in N. Guinea — Elaphomia 1/2 inch long — The horns spring from beneath the eyes — in largish species nearly as long as body & black.

In another sp. 1/3 length of body, "of a beautiful pink colour, edged with black, and with a pale central stripe." Whole insect very elegant appearance — like horns of red deer presented like elk. None of the ♀ have any trace of the Horns. — in one species neither sex have horns. —
