24. short-styled. —corolla larger (some moderate pods 1866)

27 equal-styled mid-styled — (stamens at top of corolla) (a good many fine pods) plenty of pollen —(pollen sent to William)

28 mid-styled, not fruited a little below [illeg] — (enormous number of splendid pods) plenty of pollen — x few plants

29 short-styled (very many fine pods)

30 short-styled (hardly any pods — poor plants)

31 short-styled (some poor pods—) C

32 mid-styled (no pollen?) stigma elongated — (no pods)

The pollen is of same size as in common short-styled cowslip, but with a greater number of irregularly-shaped & poor granules — May 3rd 65.—
