Supplement Midstyled see p 6

I examined another flower of the one plant (in large pot, from seedling no. 3.) which is mid-styled— The stigma rose just above stamens; was not quite so globular as in proper short-styled forms; but was nearly globular & was smooth— I thus know origin of mid-styled— Almost certainly an artificial product—

March 14th Examined another (3d flower) here pistil rose some way above anthers, yet hardly long-styled) the stigma was of the elongated shape of long-styled flower; but its surface manifestly smooth.

March 28 Now 3 flowers more, are open & these are truly long-styled.!!! so variable on same umbel. — /over

May 30 62. Another plant of no [illeg]3 in large pot has just flowered & is long-styled=
