Ap. 25. 1865 Amongst cowslips planted in experimental garden I find one which is properly long-styled, but on the same umbel, some of the flowers are strictly mid-styled & many of the flowers have stigma standing only a little above the anthers

2 Hom cowslips produce Both forms.

Ap. 25. 1865 I crossed year before short styled primrose by Polyanthus & now 6 plants have flowered. These are long & short-styled & resemble common oxlips completely except in flower being pinkish & corolla rather larger.
