Aug 21 /66/ Looked at dried fl. of Rhamnus lanceolatus — the 2 forms, one with pistil about 2/3 of length of other & with less considerably deeply divided stigma — stamens apparently of equal length — the short-styled Asa says in Book more fruitful — What does this mean.—

Feb. 3 — 1877. Frank is certain that the anther of short stamens containing some little pollen.— no plain difference in pollen grains — pistil for 2/3 to tube as long — & stigma of longer pistil longer.—
