1864 May 18 In Holly the aborted stamen of female fl. with large ovaries but very little shorter & sometimes not shorter that fertile stamens of male fl.─

This odd considering tendency to diminution in all aborted organs, as in Lychnis,─

Looks as if formerly larger & dimorphic.

Stamens of male fl more largely attached to corolla corolla than aborted stamens.

Hence I conclude not strictly dimorphic. Like Primula if like Thyme Pulmonaria
