I remember many of stamen without pollen & partly aborted

9. Long-styled Hom. seedling from long-styled plant.— white wool produced very many pods.

(In 1864 Did not ripen any pod, though so well watered)

It was either 9. or 10. of which 12 flowers were fertilised by heteromorphically good pollen of mid-styled & not one set.!!!

White wool means was in flower at same time with common heteromorphic plant /over

[2v]

It is pretty clear that hom. mid-styled has wretched pollen but in female organ is very fairly fertile.— as old common plant was in fert. flower, I think pollen of both kinds of Homos: must be poor.— As no. 9 set a good many good seeds, the great sterility of many plants can hardly be accounted for by season or growth of plants.
