Aug 8. 1862 Hottonia N. Wales.—
grandly dimorphic. In long-styled pistil projects far out of flower anthers within; stigma smaller than in short-styled & a very little rougher. In short-styled stamen project far out of flower & stigma within tube.— Pollen most conspicuously different, that of long-styled (ie of short stamen) when distended with water 4 1/2/7000 9/14 in diameter: that of short-styled 7/7000 14 if 9 to 14 & what is very odd the content more coarsely granular & browner.
Difference conspicuous when dry.—

Anther & stigma correspond in height in the two forms.—
