April 19 /65/ Crossed 12 fl. (white thread) of long-styled Pulmonaria Isl. of Wight with pollen of long-styled P. Officinalis. — Cut off down all short styled plants of former sp. P. angustifolia & uncovered all the long-styled plants of P. officinalis (all are long-styled) of latter; but I forget Bees might still be dusted with their pollen; so that I plucked off Ø

all fl. which had opened off one plant, at corner nearest greenhouse, & see if these seed. N.B. whiles other sp was in flower, the bees sucked some on margins, whilst under net, so observe whether any in this position set seed.— No not more than elsewhere.
