Viola canina yes 1868
I crossed some fl. under net & got 4, 14, 10, & 2 seeds = 30 seeds.
8 small imperfect fl were marked 7 produced 9, 8, 10, 11, 9, 9, 9, 10 = 75 seeds ─ Black wool [Insertion:] one lost, has been added)
In former years no perfect flowers produced capsules, this year, whether or not from thrips or some minute insect I know not, some did, & three pods contained 13, 1, & 3 seeds.─ Black Thread
(March 8th (69) placed on damp sand the crossed & self seed & those from small closed flowers.)
