At 10° 25 P.m new mortar lighted & pot B put 2 1/2 inches from light. At 8° A.m Nov. 27 light still burning, plants examined— not the least effect on plants in A, whereas all younger plants in B were bowed almost at right angles to light. — 3 with black paper caps depending 2. of inch were not affected or perhaps one was very slightly affected. I put indian ink on tips of 2 1 not affected the other considerably but here ink very thin.— I cut off tips of 2, one of them much curved, but white tip had grown out of sheath; the other somewhat affected & here I think white inner portion had grown considerably
