April 5. Amaranthus caudatus Heliotropism

3 seedlings painted with thick Indian Ink lower half close to ground or nearly 1/2 of Hypocotyl, bowed to light.—

3 painted upper 1/2 or 1/3 — of these 2 bowed from light! & 1 bowed as much to light as any!! I could see no difference in the manner in which painted

1 with narrow rim zone about .18 deep painted beneath Cots, a little bowed to light.

The pot was laid on one side during night & all the seedlings next morning were bowed upwards
