The section of the Uspallata will be 70. miles – drawn as 40 miles. ∴ a mile will equal 4/7 of inch.– The pass of Andes being 1200 ft– or 9000 feet above mouth of valley.– The vertical height will only be .85 of an inch above the mouth assumed from Mr Miers drawing – But we will take 3 inches or 1 mile each 3000 ft.
