Oct 16 /62/ at 2º 33 gave leaf of Dionæa Dionæa 10 drops of Sulph Aether in small Bottle loosely stopped with cotton for about 3' & it was rendered completely motionless. Good for making slices – at 3º 25' shut well!!!! when touched – 17th 12º began to open.

In long-styled Linum perenne of which pistil collapse & become slightly twisted together, a few minutes of Chloroform made then move together – Now they sleeping leaves, like Trefoil – closing flowers – many Pistils & stamens as in Fraxinella – for very important show that these slow movements same action as quick movements
