Jun 10th
Water spec
9˚ 31' put 2 leaves in water took out after 5' washed & brushed once to see if inflection comparison for Camphor specs
9˚36' washed for 15" & then brushed twice or thrice same brush & so put in distilled water at 9˚37'
9˚41' trace of inflection in one (thicker stalk)
9˚42' not in other
9 45' inflection not increased
10˚22' no increase
I then put the uninflected inflected both leaves leaf of the other 2 in Camphor w for 2' & after 2' took out one & washed & put it in water, & Brushed it once took out of Camphor at 10˚25'
a little before 10˚26' Brushing once, finished
― 10˚35' no action in either leaf
10 52' do do. do
11˚20' do do o} water stops absorption of or action of Camphor
→ N.B the second leaf was left all this time in the Camphor water
12˚50' (only discals inflected.)
60 [-] 9 [=] 51
This shows that immerse for 50" in water stops the action of camphor during 2 hours immerse in camphor — 2 leaves, & one Brushed
