If margin of leaf, when vessels inosculate, were cut under effect of Ether, we cd see how fl whether influence travelled by them not the opposite side ─ Also [illeg] with lowest in form of one of tentacle ─ ─ this cd be done at same time.

Could I not cut off end of leaf under Ether ─ paint cut end & taken infusion on card ─ When recovered & closed paint again & take another infusion & this will show any change is out take in cut mid rib & direction of laminæ.
