Ap. 11. 1874
Benzoic & Iodic Acid
7O 53' 4 glands (red stick ) with particles of Benzoic acid
8O 18' no inflection — secretion pink, not in the least increased.
9.. 5— some inflection in 3 of tentacles— but secretion decreased!
10O 30 Certainly a decrease of secretion
7O 58' do. Match stick Iodic Acid
8&& 15'. caused some inflection I do not think any increase in secretion
9. 5' pedicels of tentas brown & killed down to very base, as well as of adjoining tentacles, secretion of which had come into contact with the glands with the iodic acid — I doubt whether secretion increased— But owing to movement of all these tentacles— thy have come into contact with other glands so hard to judge of amount of secretion.
11th. 12O Stick with match— Put on drop of Benzoic Acid in solution 1 gr to 437.5. on a few glands— I doubt whether any increase of secretion.—
Probably does not really increase secretion
Keep for Acids
