May 3. 4° 45' P.m. added to the scraped leaves a little Hydrochloric 1. to 500 water & a little parallelogram of albumen— not very clear edges.

May 4th 8° Am no effect. (2d Trial utter failure)

May 4th Soaked 8 4 fresh leaves with albumen for 24h for 6h. in 2 or 3 drops of glycerine, & then put on small drop with a little Hydrochloric (correct)

1 to 400 water in watch-glass I. & added square parallelogram minute of fresh albumen. — & put on chimney Piece at 2°. 30'.

May 5 8° no change

no II. some of juice & do acid much with bit of old albumen angular

no III. some of the clear glycerine with some pepsine as I suppose & a little acid & a new bit of albumen oblong square.

May 7' All the bits of albumen as angular as ever
