the viscid secretion surrounding these glands with the one of the minute drops (1/20th of a minim) of the same a solution of one grain to two once of water; & all their tentacles became slightly inflected. Each of them could have received only the 1/172,800 1/57,600 of a grain of the Phosphate.)

(I made a large number of experiments as before by immersing cut off leaves in solutions of different strengths, & the results are astonishing.

It wd be superfluous to give the 1 experiment with the weakest solution of a gr./ βΈ®
