June 23d /74/ Dionæa
8° 20' put on 2 bits of dry gelatine, one of dry roast beef & albumen on 2 leaves—
(4° 30' no secretion —)
24th 7° 8 40' no secretion
― 8° 44' put on soaked gelatine albumen & meat, after making almost dry with Blotting Paper
(1 leaf had shut upfrom being placed in damp air & not touched!!! I believe it was leaf on which meat had been put & which was not absolutely dry & which I think had excited a trace of secretion)
2° 45 no secretion all day — moistened the 3 bodies with a little water — moistened again at 7°
25' 7° 30' —I think very little secretion— but it was very little — leaf rather torpid it did shut at last when filament touched — Perhaps kept too cold in my study cold weather
Try again ─
