Several days ago Horace burnt gl filaments so that several holes were formed at base & leaf did not close, but after a time closed very slowly when I touched filament it only increased slightly rate of closure. — Some time afterward it reopened & was fairly sensitive.
To day I burnt with lens 2 filaments, so that their bases were scorched, even as seen on under side of leaf.— No movement — I then touched filaments on opposite lobe & leaf closed, but rather slowly.
{Aug 3' leaf has partly opened & closed when filament touched
Aug 3d Blew violently through fine pipe with nozzle close to filaments caused no inflection — Also dropped water in little broken stream on them & no inflection.
Then touched filaments & leaf closed well.—
