rate of Secretion, absorption Index — — & Digestion.

p. 1 more secretion round meat & albumen, than round casein & fibrin none round glass. — after 8h S had run down 3/40 (correct) of an inch below cube of albumen — sloping surface — none from glass.

p. 2 do do do

atoms dry — in 24°, except 1 bit of albumen.

p. 2 milk & fly excite secretion— dissolution of curds digestion of meat—acid round albumen — Drying up round fibrin 18°

p: 3 fly much secretion distinctly acid— Put on on Jun 1st beginning t all dry on 5th — certainly acid round albumen

p. 3 no secretion (none from glass above) from bit of wood or starch: much from Sugar after 6° secretion which run down from sugar drying up. not acid

p. 3 Gelatine secretion, but not soon

p. 3 quick drying of minute cube of albumen & fibrin, almost dry p. 4. dissolved & absorbed.— fibrin do

p. 4 Starch great secretion, but not acid

p. 5 Starch.— (do)

p 5 Boiled rice secretion

p. 6 Slice of Pea — secretion

p 6 Cabbage seed secretion — flowed down channel .35 of inch — Thread of secretion 18 inches long —so viscid— acidfrom cabbage

Lettuce no secretion Cassia none

p 7. some seeds no secretion. — Trifolium a little

p. 7 seeds (& glass no secretion) Various seeds. — feebly acid

7'A secretion from radish seed run down 1.4 of inch Various seeds split onion & what secretion —slightly acid

7' C' germination of Seeds.

7 D Pollen excites secretion

7 D seeds.

Digestion &c

p. 7 D Resecretion. — after 8 or 9 days — after gelatine meat meat fibrin & albumen, & when become quickly dry, i e after about 24°-48°

p. 7D Back Glutenexcites secretion

8. Effects of C. of ammonia placed on glands— granular & brown

9 Effects of a fly.

9— Effects of secretion state of cabbage seed aggregate which had run down from Cabbage seeds.

10 atom of meat much increased secretion in 40m. — Digestion of.

10 Cartilage increased secretion— all secrete — with it dissolves from do absorbed in 3 1/2 days.

X 11 Resecretion — (with meat, fibrin after 9 days); & after starch after 7 days.

11 Secretion from seeds of Carex sylvatica

12 & 13 Pollen, aggregation from absorption

13 Fat. no secretion

14. Gluten & albumen— diptera immense secretion — far more digestion in the channel than on leaf

15— Fibrin secretion— digestion— much most digested in channel

16. C. of Amm. aggregation — slow movement of Protoplasm.

17. gum apparently causes immense secretion

18 seeds of grasses secretion — dry after 2 days flower bud

Plantago secretion. — after 5 days quite dry

Rumex seed.— some secretion for 8 days!!

19. (Back) square bit of cabbage & spinach leaves — secret from 1 other & has run down spinach drying up after 35°

Starch in pool of secretion certainly not dissolved.

Seeds — [leaves] 6 days Secretion under grass-seed — almost dry after 9 days in case of Festuca.

Digestion

p. 20. aggregation under where little leaves had been naturally caught & round leaves of Erica tetralix — like under insects & seeds.

21. Leaves of erica t. excite secretion little — seed of do Jun 27th — no secretion.

22 — sugar (good) — immense secretion not acid no aggregation— did not dry— kept humid

23 slice of Boiled rice on Drosera

24 (Scrap.) germination of seed avena pubescens & Rumex.

(Scrap) Rape seed 20/100 per cent of Nitrogenous matter
