Sept 12 9° — Plain stick — pierced midrib & not front bit of Hairy L. L at base.

(Sept 13th 8˚15. Plain Stick, no effect: (some slight oblique curvature at tip: 11 lines, considerable curvature tips at to base:)

Sept 13th 8° slight oblique curvature: Sept 14' do

Sept 13' 8° considerable curvature. Sept 14' 8° — the tip of leaf has clasped fly, but I see that fly was placed above the cut in midrib

Sept 15th 8° A m. same state

Sept 12' 9° 30 3 leaves with bits of Hairy L. legs at very base of leaves, uninjured & not cut Blue Sticks

XX Sept 13th. 8° 15 tops of all 3 finely curved over the fly at base.

Red Sticks & no black 2 of them pricked in about midrib very with very fine needle & cd not have cut through midrib — (Sept 13th 8° 15 no effect) (Sept 14th 8° no effect) (Sept 15th 8° no effect)
