June 25th

(1) Dipped half a Drosera leaf [sketch] into a solution of sugar gr ii to [symbol] i for 6m then other half with in soln of acetate of morphia gr ii to [symbol] i for 6m— Then whole leaf was dusted over with fine white sand—

(2) Another leaf similarly treated

(1) (a) showed no trustable results

(2) in a quarter of an hr showed a good deal more inflection on the upper side, but some in the morphia—
