Citrate of Ammonia solution of about 4 gr t 1 oz. tried of 4 leaves; killed one; a second strongly contracted in 42°; two others only slightly affected. Solution of about 2 gr t 1 oz tried on three leaves, (not used) in 7° each had 2 or 3 marginal hairs inflected, & subsequently no greater effect was produced. I am much surprised at this even little action of citrate of ammonia, more especially in relation to an experiment subsequently to be given — I ought to try Citrt of Amm again
