If I can make out mechanism of movement in Drosera by colour of sap — it will be new & will prove Lamark' hypothesis to be right.— see Dict. Class. Tom. X. p. 569 (Yes) on Sensitive Plant —

Must be variation in Dionæa which conveys sensation — Vibration of carriage or Horses-Hoof— excites movement in Mimosa — see "Sensitive Plant" Penny Encyclop.—
