General Result— Dec 10 /66/

In the small Flora of N. Zealand, which I selected for having an especial number of trees & of plants with separated sexes.—

There are out of about 750 phanerogam. 108 trees of these 52 have sexes separated; nor does this ensue from chance owing to many trees belonging to particular group: for the trees occur in 38 Families, & of these exactly half have sexes trees with sexes separate. They belong to 60 genera of which 27 have sexes separate. Shrubs enter nearly into same categ there are 86 147 shrubs, of which 88 88 are herm. & 61 sexes separated— of herbac. plants there 379 500 & only 121 with sexes separate, thus the character of island. —
