Tom. 8. Notice sur la Melipone Domestique Mexicaine. Pierre Huber.

p. 12. — makes irregular pots of honey as big as nuts; where two adjoin the sides are flat, with certain angles constant — pyramidal bottoms something analogous to common Bee — but the dimensions of the sides various. "On retrouvait ainsi sous une forme grossière l'esprit de la construction alveolaires des ruches européennes."

p. 18. have more relation to humble bees in their instincts & organization than to our bee.

p. 20. "tiennent pour ainsi dite le milieu entre les bourdons velues et les abeilles" — Humble bees profit by their coques de soies pour en faire des magasins — they elongate their coques by means of tubes of wax (see Linn. Soc. Vol. VI).
