Flora 1848. Ueber Ausartung der Pflanzen

Prof Dr Hornschuch. p. 26. At meeting of der Freunde der Naturwissenschaften in Wien April 25. 1846, Dr Reissek, stated in Botanic Garden there is tree of Cytisus laburnum, which everyone can see, which hitherto had always borne proper flowers — In this showed on one twig yellow on other red, & even on same branch, lower flower yellow & upper red, even in same cluster. The red were quite like C. Adami —. The tree, also, had one twig of true L. purpureum, though so different a plants, 1 foot high, with single red flowers & smaller leaves. — The tree had been known for many years. — Specimens were exhibited.

p 42. (do.) Geum intermedium shown to be probaly due to conditions & not to Hybridisation

1848. do. p. 55. states that Berg got out of Iris sambucina (vulgo Germanica) 20 forms called species in systematic works. —

p. 56. according to Von Berg, those variations of Iris which differ most from their parent, do not produce seed. —

p. 58. astounding statements. (though Berg appears good man) of conversions of winter Rape into Thlaspi arvense & this into Camellina sativa, & this into Capsella Bursa pastoris.

p. 61. planted in Boiled earth cut off point of stem of Thlapi arvense & side twigs bore flower of Sinapis alba —

p. 62 Lentils from southern countries turned into vetches. —

p. 64 thinks bad earth important, (I could sow in Boxes of ashes) –

p. 69 Trifolium fragiferum turned into T. repens, by cutting tap-root

p. 74. seeds of Bromus sterilis sown in June or July, produce following year Hordeum murinum & Bromus mollis — Attribute much
