Holland, allied "a la precedente (group) par des genres originaires des iles de l'ocean pacifique — (p. 415 it is New Zealand) gives this as instance of affinities & ranges going together — So Agassiz did. — — p. 393 affinities cannot be expressed on a plane surface, but organic beings must be placed like the stars in open space, so as to delineate their affinities.—
It is truly remarkable that affinities of God-created animals shd be relative to space (independently of adaptation) & likewise to Time.—
